When to write

You are welcome to contact us about any of the following:

• Metadata corrections — an incorrect title, author name, or category placement (for example, a book filed under “Poems, Plays & Literary Form” that belongs in “Young Readers & Adventures”).
• File or reading issues — a file that does not open, displays garbled text, or fails on a particular device or browser.
• Accessibility problems — difficulty using the site with a screen reader, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology.
• Privacy questions — any concern about how your data is handled while browsing or downloading.
• Copyright or rights concerns — if you believe a work in the catalogue may not be in the public domain in your jurisdiction, or if you hold rights to a title and wish to discuss its inclusion.
• General editorial observations — suggestions, corrections to reading notes, or thoughts on how a title is presented (for example, the companion material for Lalla Rookh — A Reader’s Guide or the background notes for The Ingoldsby Legends).

What to include in your message

To help us address your report quickly and accurately, please include as many of the following details as possible:

• The full URL of the page where you noticed the issue.
• The exact title of the ebook (e.g., Ballads from the Danish and Original Verses).
• The file format you were using (EPUB, PDF, HTML, etc.).
• The device, operating system, and browser you were using (e.g., iPhone 14, iOS 17, Safari).
• A clear description of the problem you observed.
• If the issue relates to copyright or rights, any supporting information you can share.

What happens after you write

All messages are read by the collection editor, David Smith. Every report is reviewed, and where appropriate, corrections are made to the catalogue. Because the library is a personal project, you will not receive an automated acknowledgment, but you can expect a considered reply if your message requires one. For simple corrections, the editor may update the catalogue without a direct response; for more complex queries, a personal reply is sent.

Additional guidance for specific concerns

If you are writing about a possible rights issue, please note that public-domain status varies by country. A work that is free of copyright in the United States may still be protected in other jurisdictions. The editor will review any evidence you provide and, if necessary, restrict access to the title from the relevant region.

For accessibility-related reports, describing the assistive technology you use (such as a specific screen reader or voice-control software) helps the editor test and resolve the issue more effectively.
